Academic integrity is defined as ‘the commitment to the five fundamental values of honesty, trust, fairness, respect and responsibility, even in times of adversity.’

Malvern College Qingdao provides a student-orientated English education, and all our members, whether they are students, staff, or parents, are committed to common Values. We believe that learning refers not only to the attainment of knowledge, but also of honesty and wisdom.

MCQ students are ‘global citizens’ of the future, thus requiring moral values and an awareness of the contemporary world. These two integrities combine to form truly valuable qualities in a student.

Violation of academic integrity

Plagiarism: introducing other people's ideas or words into their own work without proper reference, cheating on exams, etc.
Tampering: taking exams on behalf of others, fabricating or tampering with data, etc.
Assisting others in breaking academic integrity: deliberately allowing others to copy your assignments, making fake transcripts or other official documents.

The purpose of this statement is to make students aware of the importance of honesty in an academic career. Academic misconduct has irreversible negative effects. Adherence to academic integrity is critical for students who are part of the Malvern family. It also requires the cooperation of all faculty and staff as well as the effective supervision of parents.  Academic integrity should be the first discipline of all students, becoming the foundation of their future careers.
