-‘It all just feels like home.’
Hi, this is Lareina! Just as you’ve noticed, we’ve just got back from the summer camp to Malvern College UK which is the sister school of Malvern College Qingdao. Now, I would like to share my great experience from this trip to you all =D Hope you enjoy :)
The scenery in Malvern College UK was undoubtedly incredible, and I was deeply impressed by its gorgeous views and the fantabulous climate. But guess what? Those lovely British people impressed me even more! I couldn’t even find a word to describe how awesome they were. Personally, those people were pretty much the reason why I loved this trip that much.
First, I would like to introduce Mr. Godsland and Mrs. Godsland to you :) Mr. Godsland and Mrs. Godsland were just like our housemaster and housemistress. They were really hospitable indeed, and they treated us with their utmost cordiality even though only six people were there in this summer camp included Ms. Chen (the led teacher from MCQ ). I remembered that Mr. Godsland once hurt his thumb and caused him can’t drive normally. We were supposed to travel to London on that day, but for guaranteeing our safety, he changed our schedule and took us to a shopping center around Malvern instead of driving such a long distance. (which was still really fun!) Just like Doris Chen said “Mr. Godsland and Mrs. Godsland were just like our ‘parent-in-the-UK’”. They took care of us, they spent their time with us, we were really grateful to them and we did enjoy being together with them.
Godsland 与 Mrs. Godsland 。
Beyond that, we met Becky and Robert, two helpers who came from Malvern. Robert was one of the exchange students from Malvern College UK last term and he was studying at Malvern College currently and he was turning to Lower Sixth this summer. Differently, Becky had already graduated from Malvern College and she just finished her freshman year at the University of Bath. We went to ice -skate with Becky and Robert once, and that was my very first time to try to ice-skate. I was completely terrified by the skating rink at the beginning, because I hadn’t even been on the rink before! It got even worse that I couldn’t even stand stably on the rink… It was really lucky that Becky and Robert were there helping me. Both of them taught me how to move on the rink step by step, they were as patient as kindergarten teachers that made me feel like I was a 3-year-old kid =P Moreover, we played board games almost every night (the World Cup sometimes ;) ) We did silly things and made fun of each other while playing games. And it just made me feel like we’d known each other for ages, and a big family with numerous siblings. I believe it would be the definition of a boarding house as well- a huge FAMILY :)
We met Kiel (Mr. Hanson) on the second day we arrived at MC. He was our English teacher who taught us both culturally and academically. Time flied so fast when we were having his lessons. Sometimes we even felt like we were just having fun with him rather than taking cliché English courses. ( Kiel and his card which sent by Lareina in the following picture =P )
Mr. Calderwood was also a humorous teacher. But differently, he taught us MINI MBA. He assumed the flights from the UK to China had been cancelled forever, so that we had to find a way for earning our livings. In this instance, we founded our own ‘MCQ Language School’ within few days and we got to learn how to operate this ‘language school’ under his leading ;)
We met numerous cute friends from Pilgrim language school as well;) And we had few activities such as ‘missions impossible’ and some other team games with them. Again, we had a huge amount of fun out there in Malvern =D
Furthermore, some local residents impressed me likewise. On the first day we arrived in Malvern, there were two locals smiled and waved to us outside the window although we didn’t even know them when we were driving though the town. And it was really unforgettable that how sweet and helpful were those Malvernians when we were taking a quiz in the town :)
I would like to say thank you to every single one of those people that I’ve just mentioned above. It was you guys made this wonderful trip that I would never forget. Truly beautiful time with you guys! And always see you later :)
In addition, special thanks to Ivy Chen and relevant staffs who made this trip possible. Thanks for your time and energy consuming!
